Baseball Recap: St. Xavier Continues Home Dominance on Monday

There's no place like home for St. Xavier, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. They skirted past the Male Bulldogs 4-3. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Colton Zuege looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in eight consecutive appearances.

At the plate, St. Xavier saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brodie Benefield, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, one triple, and two RBI. Another was Mason Akers, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI.

St. Xavier's win was their ninth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 28-6. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 2.11 runs across that stretch. As for Male, they now have a losing record of 18-19.

As of now, neither St. Xavier nor the Bulldogs have any future games scheduled.
