Baseball Recap: Smithfield Packers vs. Tabb Tigers

Smithfield had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 4-11 to make it six. They took a 9-6 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tabb Tigers. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 back in March.

Nick Gaspar was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Luke Waycaster was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

As for Tabb, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season. With that win, they brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

On Tabb's side, Gabriel Ramirez was incredible, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those three runs gave Ramirez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Rivera, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases and two runs.
