Braintree is 7-1 against Norwood since May of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Wamps will be playing at home against the Mustangs at 12:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Braintree has five straight victories, Norwood has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

If Braintree beats Norwood with seven runs on Wednesday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Wamps walked away with a 7-2 win over Dennis-Yarmouth Regional on Monday.

Meanwhile, Norwood fell victim to Ashland and their airtight pitching crew on Thursday. They fell just short of the Clockers by a score of 1-0. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

Braintree's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Norwood, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Braintree beat Norwood 4-0 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Wamps repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
