Wood-Ridge was handed a nine-run loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Wednesday. They skirted past the Hasbrouck Heights Aviators 4-2. The Blue Devils haven't had any issues with the Aviators recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Natalia Nieves made a splash no matter where she played. She tossed seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and one stolen base.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brooke Stellato, who scored a run while going 3-for-3. Isabella Catanzaro also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

The victory got Wood-Ridge back to even at 2-2. As for Hasbrouck Heights, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 4-1.

Looking ahead, Wood-Ridge will square off against Becton at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Hasbrouck Heights, they will face off against Lodi at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Aviators are facing the Rams at the right time seeing as the Rams are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
