It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Pinson Valley ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They skirted past the Clay-Chalkville Cougars 8-6. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Juan Martinez was excellent, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two RBI and one double. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had over his last 11 contests. Jaylon Sharpe was another key player, going 2-for-5 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.

With the win, Pinson Valley broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 11-22. As for Clay-Chalkville, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with the loss, which was their third straight at home.

Pinson Valley will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Cougars: the pair will be back at it again later today.
