Baseball Game Preview: Oak Grove Warriors vs. Brandon Bulldogs

For the second straight game, Oak Grove will face off against Brandon. The Warriors will head out on the road to square off against the Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Oak Grove 4, Brandon 3.3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

Oak Grove heads in on the heels of a playoff matchup on Tuesday. They took a 6-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of Brandon. The Warriors' defeat signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

For Brandon's part, Jackson Clark spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits and racked up ten Ks. Clark has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Graydon Walker, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI. Jay McQueen was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

The win (which was Brandon's fourth in a row) raised their record to 22-12. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.3 runs over those games. As for Oak Grove, their loss dropped their record down to 25-6.
