Volleyball Recap: Arab Knights vs. Buckhorn Bucks

Buckhorn typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Arab proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Buckhorn Bucks. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Knights also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2023.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Arab who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 20-25, 17-15.

Kayden Gronczniak was nothing short of spectacular: she had 17 digs and two aces. That's the most aces she has posted in her last nine contests.

Buckhorn lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Addison Layne, who had ten digs and 30 assists. Layne is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 12 or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Brooklynn Gonzalez, who had 18 digs.

Arab has been performing well recently as they've won 24 of their last 29 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 36-14 record this season. As for Buckhorn, their defeat ended an 18-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 33-12.
