Football Game Preview: Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers vs. Robert C. Byrd Eagles

The Buckhannon-Upshur Buccaneers are taking a road trip to square off against the Robert C. Byrd Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The last four games Buckhannon-Upshur has played have been within three points, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.

Buckhannon-Upshur took a 40-point loss the last time they faced off against Preston, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Buccaneers sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 60-57 victory over the Knights on Friday. The Buccaneers' offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Buckhannon-Upshur can attribute much of their success to Eli Watkins, who threw for 572 yards and six touchdowns while completing 77.4% of his passes, and Easton Metzner, who picked up 365 receiving yards and six scores.

Meanwhile, Robert C. Byrd and North Marion were almost perfectly matched up last Friday, but Robert C. Byrd suffered a 21-20 defeat.

Buckhannon-Upshur's win bumped their record up to 2-7. As for Robert C. Byrd, they now have a losing record of 4-5.
