Football Recap: Prairie View Comes Up Short

Prairie View extended their losing streak (dating back to last season) to ten on Friday, dropping them down to 0-5. They lost 28-6 to the Mountain Range Mustangs. The Thunderhawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Mustangs apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

As for Mountain Range, their victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 3-2. That looming 28-6 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for them yet this season.

Mountain Range's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Cameron Williams, who rushed for 75 yards and one TD on only seven carries, and also threw for 113 yards and a pair of touchdowns. The Mustangs' leading receiver Jon Echelmeier was Williams' top target yet again, picking up 70 receiving yards and a pair of scores, while also rushing for 33 yards.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prairie View will challenge Fairview at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Thunderhawks will need to watch out since the Knights have now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season. As for Mountain Range, they will square off against Overland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Mustangs will be up against the Trailblazers' rather soft defense (which has allowed 61 points per matchup), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
