Baseball Recap: Legacy Falls Short of Verdugo Hills in the Playoffs

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Legacy can now relate to. They fell just short of the Verdugo Hills Dons by a score of 2-0 on Thursday. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Dons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Legacy has also been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-17 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.8 runs on average over those games. As for Verdugo Hills, their win bumped their record up to 12-16.

Legacy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Verdugo Hills, they will challenge San Pedro at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Pirates will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Dons surely won't give up without a fight.
