Volleyball Recap: Natomas Nighthawks vs. El Camino Eagles
After flying high against Casa Roble last Monday, Natomas came back down to earth. The Nighthawks fell just short of the El Camino Eagles by a score of 3-2 on Monday. The Nighthawks were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Eagles earlier this season, when they won 3-1.
Natomas took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-18, 16-25, 20-25, 25-18, 16-14.
Natomas' loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 8-1 and their overall record down to 11-7. As for El Camino, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Natomas will head out to square off against Woodland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for El Camino, they will challenge Rio Linda at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Knights will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Eagles surely won't give up without a fight.
