Basketball Recap: Wilson Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Brylee Fly and Brooklyn Evert

On Saturday, the Wilson Central Wildcats ended up a good deal behind The Webb School Feet and lost 64-45. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wilson Central's loss came despite strong showings from Brooklyn Evert and Brylee Fly. Evert went 9 of 16 en route to 22 points and five boards, while Fly posted seven points along with six assists and five rebounds. That's the most points Evert has posted since back in November of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Kinning, who earned four points in addition to nine rebounds and three steals.

Leading The Webb School to victory were Makynli Bacon and Daria Biriuk. Bacon went 8 for 13 on her way to 22 points and six steals, while Biriuk dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards. Biriuk's afternoon made it three games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Laine Lyles, who scored seven points along with five steals and three blocks.

Wilson Central now has a losing record at 9-10. As for The Webb School, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-7.

Wilson Central will face off against Stewarts Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Stewarts Creek has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. The Webb School has already played their next matchup (against Grace Christian Academy), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
