Basketball Recap: Vaughn Comes Up Short

After flying high against Corona on Tuesday, Vaughn came back down to earth. The Eagles were beaten by the Alamo Navajo Cougars 89-45 on Thursday. The Eagles have struggled against the Cougars recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Tilial Secatero had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 68% from the field en route to 31 points and five boards for Alamo Navajo. Those 31 points gave Secatero a new career-high. Scotty Guerro was another key player, going 7-for-12 to rack up 18 points and five rebounds.

Vaughn's loss dropped their record down to 3-9. As for Alamo Navajo, their win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-4.

Vaughn has already played their next contest, a 75-29 defeat against Hondo Valley on the 10th. As for Alamo Navajo, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 58-51 victory against Mountainair on the 10th.
