Softball Recap: Farmington Comes Up Short

Farmington extended their losing streak to three on Tuesday, dropping them down to 8-7. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the East Hampton Bellringers. That's two games in a row now that the River Hawks have lost by just one run.

As for East Hampton, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-12. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games.

For East Hampton's part, Kendall Jump spent all seven innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on four hits.

Farmington didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 23-11 defeat against Avon on the 22nd. As for East Hampton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, a 14-2 victory against Westbrook on the 20th.
