Football Recap: San Joaquin Memorial Piles Up the Points Against Central

After only ten points in their last game, San Joaquin Memorial made sure to put some points up on the board against Central on Thursday. The Panthers claimed a resounding 49-13 victory over the Grizzlies. The Panthers pushed the score to 42-7 by the end of the third, a deficit the Grizzlies had no chance of recovering from.

Despite the loss, Central saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Quincy Moore picked up 117 receiving yards and one touchdown.

San Joaquin Memorial now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Central, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. San Joaquin Memorial will venture away from home to take on Justin Garza at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. This will be the Panthers' first chance to prove their worth in the conference. As for Central, they are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will square off against Modesto Christian at 7:00 p.m. on October 3. The Grizzlies will be up against the Crusaders' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.6 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
