The biggest upset of the week belonged to Northridge, who took down 52nd ranked Northridge, 14-12.
Hoover extended the longest winning streak in 6A Region 5 this week by beating Tuscaloosa County, 28-10. The victory was the 10th in a row for the Buccaneers.
Minor's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Mondarrius Griggs threw for 148 and one touchdown and Jabri King had 42 yards receiving. On the ground Griggs chipped in 61 yards. Cartderius Woods helped Minor's passing attack out by catching three balls for 39 yards.
Minor's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Tigers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Griggs has thrown for 521 yards and two touchdowns this season, while Griggs has 10 catches for 408 yards. Griggs also leads the league in rushing with 782 yards.
Bessemer City and the Jaguars played the most hotly contested game in the league this week, with Bessemer City eventually emerging with a 14-12 victory.
