Baseball Recap: Oakwood Wins Going Away Against Heritage

Oakwood won the last time they faced Heritage and things went their way on Thursday too. The Comets blew past the Hawks 16-6. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Comets.

Alex Wallace looked comfortable as he tossed 1.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Chase Harrison was a standout: he went 2-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Oakwood is undefeated when Harrison posts two or more runs, but 2-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Carsen Dudley, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-5.

Oakwood was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .379. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Oakwood's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Heritage, their defeat was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Oakwood will challenge St. Thomas More at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Heritage, they will take on Argenta-Oreana at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
