Soccer Game Preview: West Stokes vs. Davie

The West Stokes Wildcats will face off against the Davie War Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

West Stokes made up a huge gap compared to their last game against McMichael, but they still couldn't quite topple them. West Stokes blew past McMichael 4-1 on Monday. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wildcats' offense, which had struggled in the games prior.

Meanwhile, on FridayNorth Davidson kept up with Davie until halftime, but afterwards: not so much. Davie never let North Davidson get on the board and left with a 4-0 win.

Davie hit North Davidson with a four-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Lanna Robinson, Ava Hale, Caroline Mitchell, and Lydia Postell.

The victory got West Stokes back to even at 2-2-1. As for Davie, they now have a winning record of 2-1.

West Stokes beat Davie 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April of 2017. The rematch might be a little tougher for West Stokes since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
