Basketball Recap: Drexel Comes Up Short

Drexel suffered their closest loss since December 7, 2023 on Friday. They fell just short of the Osceola Indians by a score of 46-43. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 207th, while the Indians are ranked 101st).

It was another big night for Laney Uchtman, who went 5 for 7 en route to 12 points for Osceola. Another player making a difference was Grace Colby, who posted eight points.

This is the second loss in a row for Drexel and nudges their season record down to 7-5. As for Osceola, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-3.

Drexel will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Archie at 5:30 p.m. on February 4th. As for Osceola, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 45-40 victory against Montrose on the 27th.
