Softball Recap: Elizabethtown Takes a Loss

Greenwood hit Elizabethtown with a 17-run fourth inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Panthers lost 19-1 to the Gators. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Panthers of the 3-2 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.

Elizabethtown saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Eliza Dober, who went 1-for-2 with one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Elizabethtown and nudges their season record down to 12-16. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 15-12 Warren East (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 59.4% over those games). As for Greenwood, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-11 record this season.

Elizabethtown will challenge Warren East at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Greenwood, they will host Paducah Tilghman at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday.
