The Pungo Christian Academy Raiders will square off against the Lawrence Academy Warriors at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Pungo Christian Academy took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 21-10 margin over Ridgecroft. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Raiders considering their one-run performance the match before.
Henley Gibbs spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up eight Ks.

On the hitting side, Emma Hanna was a standout: she went 4-for-5 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Patricia Pugh was another key player, going 3-for-6 with four runs and two RBI.
Pungo Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .422. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, Lawrence Academy entered their tilt with Northeast Academy on Monday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp 16-1 victory.
Jaslene Ethridge made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ethridge was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Claire Smith was incredible, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs, three RBI, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Lilly Brower, who went 1-for-2 with four RBI and one run.
Pungo Christian Academy's win bumped their record up to 6-10. As for Lawrence Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 17-5.
Wednesday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Pungo Christian Academy hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .319. However, it's not like Lawrence Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .372. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Pungo Christian Academy might still be hurting after the 20-1 loss they got from Lawrence Academy when the teams last played back in March. Can the Raiders avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
