Softball Recap: Nipomo Titans vs. North Stars

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Nipomo had no problem doing just that on Friday. They came out on top against the North Stars by a score of 12-7. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Titans.

Alyssa Van Muysen made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over 6.2 innings while giving up five earned (and two unearned) runs off eight hits. Van Muysen was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three runs and one triple. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

The win got Nipomo back to even at 10-10. As for North, they moved to 18-12 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Looking ahead, Nipomo will head out on the road to square off against Woodlake at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Titans will need to watch out since the Tigers have now posted at least ten runs in their last four games. North does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
