Volleyball Recap: Calaveras Red Hawks vs. Linden Lions

Calaveras entered their contest against Linden on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Red Hawks fell just short of the Lions by a score of 3-2. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Lions this season, with their most recent defeat being a 2-0 loss back in September.

Calaveras actually scored more points across those five sets (106-103), but sadly they still had to settle for second. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-17, 25-23, 17-25, 18-25, 18-16.

Despite the loss, Calaveras still got an impressive performance from Isabelle Saiers, who had 20 digs and one assist. Madison Jennings also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

The defeat was their first at home , dropping their record down to 11-6. As for Linden, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-7.

Calaveras wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 3-0 victory against Bret Harte on the 9th. Linden has also already played their next match (against Riverbank), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
