After losing to Elkin the last time they met, Mount Airy decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Mount Airy Granite Bears strolled past the Elkin Buckin' Elks with points to spare on Wednesday, taking the game 59-44.

Mount Airy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 10-11 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.0 points over those games. As for Elkin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost five of their last six contests, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-13 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Airy will venture away from home to challenge Alleghany at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Alleghany knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four games -- so hopefully Mount Airy likes a good challenge. As for Elkin, they will square off against South Stokes at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. South Stokes will roll in looking for their 16th straight win, something Elkin surely won't give up without a fight.
