Recap: Hueneme Vikings vs. Santa Clara Saints
This season hasn't been kind to the Hueneme Vikings, who are still winless after their seventh matchup. They received a tough blow on Thursday as they fell 54-39 to Santa Clara. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Hueneme in their matchups with Santa Clara: they've now lost five in a row.
Chris Juanillo was Hueneme's leading scorer, having posted seven points.
Benito Gutierrez held things down on the boards with seven rebounds. Gutierrez took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Hueneme bumped their record down to 0-7 with that defeat, which was their third straight at home. As for Santa Clara, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hueneme will face off against Nordhoff at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Santa Clara, they will head out on the road to face off against Buena Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
