Baseball Recap: Lakota West Picks Up Third Consecutive Victory

Lakota West had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 3.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Monday. They never let the Sycamore Aviators get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Firebirds also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Lakota West pushed their record up to 14-4 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Sycamore, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-9 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Lakota West will face off against rival Lakota East at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Sycamore is set to take on their familiar foe Hamilton at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
