Softball Recap: Grant Tigers vs. White Cloud Indians
Grant came tearing into Thursday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the White Cloud Indians 18-3. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 10-0 on Thursday.
Payton Shoemaker made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off three hits. Shoemaker was also big at the plate, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. She has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times she's played.

In other batting news, Logyn Hansen was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with six RBI, three runs, and three doubles. Those three doubles gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Addison Herrmann, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with four RBI, two doubles, and one run.
Grant always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .692. They are a perfect 5-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Grant now has a winning record of 8-7. As for White Cloud, they are on a 13-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grant will take on Allendale at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Tigers' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Falcons have averaged an impressive 7 runs per game this season.
