Newaygo came tearing into Tuesday's game with eight straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They claimed a resounding 55-27 victory over the Holton Red Devils. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 22 points or more this season.

Newaygo's win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-2. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.2 points over those games. As for Holton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-10.

Looking ahead, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lions challenge the Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Big Rapids will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Newaygo surely won't give up without a fight.
