Softball Game Preview: Bartlett Indians vs. Tantasqua Regional Warriors

Bartlett hasn't had much luck against Tantasqua Regional recently, but that could start to change on Monday. The Indians will challenge the Warriors at 3:30 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Bartlett will roll into the matchup after a wild two-game stretch: they only put up two runs two weeks ago, then bounced right back against North last Wednesday. The Indians blew past the Polar Bears 15-2. The Indians not only won last Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since May 21, 2024 (when they won 19-0).

Dakota Vaudreuil was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in all three of her plate appearances with two runs.

In other batting news, Taryn Gerber was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Those stolen bases marked the first that she has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Hope Cooper, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.

Bartlett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .676. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, on Friday Tantasqua Regional's undefeated season almost came to an end. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against St. Paul.

Bartlett's victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5. As for Tantasqua Regional, their record is now 4-0.

Bartlett might still be hurting after the 14-0 loss they got from Tantasqua Regional in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Indians avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
