Baseball Recap: Canyon Del Oro Finds Playoff Glory Versus Campo Verde

With a playoff win on the line, Canyon del Oro rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 7-3 victory over the Campo Verde Coyotes. The win was familiar territory for the Dorados, who have now won 11 games in a row.

Regen Mazura spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Francisco Rivero, who went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Adrian Encinas was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs.

Canyon del Oro's victory was their 22nd straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 24-5. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Campo Verde, they now have a losing record of 13-14.

Canyon del Oro wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 13-4 victory against Notre Dame Prep on the 5th. Campo Verde does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
