Fairview proved they can win big on Monday (they won by three) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Montgomery Central Indians 3-2. This was a revenge game for the Yellowjackets: when they faced off against the Indians back in September, they had to take a 3-1 defeat.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (105-100) Fairview actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The match finished with set scores of 13-25, 25-16, 28-26, 19-25, 15-13.

Layla Curtis was the offensive standout of the matchup as she had 17 digs and one assist.

Fairview was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 16 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least seven aces in three consecutive matches.

Fairview has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 21-11 record this season. As for Montgomery Central, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.

Coming up, Fairview is taking a road trip to challenge Creek Wood at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Montgomery Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
