Softball Recap: Windom Eagles vs. Fairmont Cardinals

Windom extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 4-6. They lost 9-2 to the Fairmont Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 5-1 on April 13th.

As for Fairmont, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win they have posted against Windom since May 7, 2016.

For Fairmont's part, Brylee Miller made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. Miller was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four runs, and one double. Those four runs gave her a new career-high.

In other batting news, Bria Williamson was incredible, going 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Windom will take on Marshall at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Fairmont, they will face off against Luverne at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
