Volleyball Recap: Lake Ridge Takes a Loss

Lake Ridge lost against Johnson back in August of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Eagles fell just short of the Jaguars by a score of 2-1. The Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Brielle Smith paced Lake Ridge's offense, picking up ten kills. Smith got some help from Kensli Tyler and her 14 assists.

Johnson can attribute much of their success to Rileigh Butler, who had 16 digs. That's the most digs Butler has posted over her last six matches. Summer Spatcher also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Lake Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Johnson, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 15-3.

Lake Ridge has already played their next game, a 3-0 victory against Arlington on the 26th. As for Johnson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against Weiss on the 23rd.
