Basketball Game Preview: Gary West Side Cougars vs. Bowman Academy Eagles

Gary West Side is on a four-game streak of home wins, while Bowman Academy is on a three-game streak of away wins: one of those streaks is about to end. The Gary West Side Cougars will host the Bowman Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Both are at an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but likely not for long.

Last Saturday, Gary West Side made easy work of Hammond Bishop Noll and carried off a 69-45 win. Given the Cougars' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 98th, while the Warriors are ranked 298th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, in a tight game that could have gone either way, Bowman Academy made off with a 44-43 victory over Marquette Catholic.

Gary West Side has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 8-5 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 66.1 points per game. As for Bowman Academy, their win bumped their record up to 5-7.
