Basketball Recap: Central Academy Comes Up Short

Central Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss. They were outmatched by the Forest Hills Yellow Jackets and fell 74-37. The Cougars were down 66-26 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.

Forest Hills got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was K.J Chambers out in front who went 7 for 8 en route to 17 points and eight rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Chambers a new career-high in field goal percentage (88%). Amari Melton was another key player, going 6 of 13 on his way to 18 points and three steals.

Central Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 1-20. As for Forest Hills, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season.

Coming up, Central Academy will challenge Monroe at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Monroe is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 55 points per game this season. As for Forest Hills, they will face off against Cuthbertson at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Forest Hills also hasn't been messing around on offense: they've averaged 61.4 points per game.
