Baseball Game Preview: Braddock Bulldogs vs. Killian Cougars

The Braddock Bulldogs will face off against the Killian Cougars at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Braddock's pitching crew has only allowed 2.6 runs per game this season, so Killian's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Braddock is probably headed into the match with a chip on their shoulder considering True North Classical Academy just ended the team's nine-game winning streak on Friday. They fell 8-5 to the Titans.

Manny Sanchez and Marcelo Torres stepped up to the plate in a big way. Sanchez scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 2-for-3, while Torres went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. That's the most stolen bases Sanchez has posted since back in April of 2024. Brayan Martinez also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Meanwhile, Killian lost 11-1 to American Heritage on Friday. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jahdon Heron was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-2 with one home run.

Killian's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Braddock, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-2-1.

Killian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Braddock hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .353. It's a different story for Killian, though, as they've only averaged .243. Will they be able to contain Braddock's hitters?

Braddock beat Killian 10-7 in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will Braddock repeat their success, or does Killian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
