It may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Hermon ultimately got the result they hoped for on Thursday. They put the hurt on the Ellsworth Eagles with a sharp 8-2 win. The Hawks not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since April 26th (when they won 10-0).

Max Hopkins made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out ten batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off five hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.
