Soccer Game Preview: Pike Road vs. Saint James

The Pike Road Patriots are taking a road trip to square off against the Saint James Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Pike Road took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed last Tuesday. They blew past Park Crossing 8-0. Patricio Hernandez was a massive factor in the win as he booted in three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Saint James had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.3 goals) and they went ahead and made it four last Thursday. They came within a single goal of losing the streak, but they secured a 2-1 W against the Wildcats. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Saint James now has a winning record of 5-4. As for Pike Road, their win bumped their record up to 7-5-1.

Pike Road was able to grind out a solid victory over Saint James in their previous matchup back in February, winning 3-1. Will Pike Road repeat their success, or does Saint James has a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
