Softball Recap: Pioneer Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Pioneer can now relate to. They took a 5-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lopez Lobos on Thursday. The Diamondbacks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Lobos apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in May of 2023.

This is the second loss in a row for Pioneer and nudges their season record down to 19-7. As for Lopez, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last 11 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-9 record this season.

Lopez didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 5-1 victory against Sharyland on the 24th. Hopefully Pioneer paid attention to the Lobos' contest: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Lobos on Friday.
