Recap: McDowell Titans vs. Avery County Vikings
The McDowell Titans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four matchups by 21 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Thursday as they easily beat Avery County 71-35 at home. That 71-35 margin sets a new team best for McDowell this season.
Eli Elliott was his usual excellent self, scoring 17 points. Another player making a difference was Rylan Parkins, who scored ten points.
McDowell's win bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Avery County, they bumped their record down to 3-7 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.
McDowell won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Patton at 6:30 p.m. on December 29th. Patton will be looking to extend their current four-game winning streak. Avery County is on the road again on January 5, 2024 and play against NCSSM: Morganton at 7:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
