Basketball Recap: South Bend Washington Takes Down Michigan City in a Playoff Battle

It's playoff time, and South Bend Washington had no trouble coming through when it counted. They breezed past the Michigan City Wolves to the tune of 61-32 on Friday. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 contests by 21 points or more this season.

South Bend Washington got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ryiah Wilson out in front who posted 13 points and eight steals. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in each of the last three games she's played. Monique Mitchell was another key player, going 8-for-16 on her way to 20 points.

South Bend Washington smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Michigan City only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.

Despite the loss, Michigan City still got an impressive performance from Paulecia Isom, who put up 19 points and four steals. That was a full 59.4% of Michigan City's points, marking the fourth time in a row Isom has had more than a third of the team's points.

The victory (which was South Bend Washington's 18th in a row) raised their record to 23-1. As for Michigan City, their loss dropped their record down to 7-17.
