Basketball Recap: Hurley Extends Winning Streak to Three

Hurley won the last time they faced Wakefield and things went their way on Thursday too. The Hurley Northstars came out on top against the Wakefield Cardinals by a score of 67-56. Given the Northstars' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 210th in Wisconsin, while the Cardinals are ranked 522nd in Michigan), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

The win was the third in a row for Hurley, bringing their record for this year to 15-3. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.0 points over those games. As for Wakefield, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6.

Hurley has already played their next matchup, a 58-41 loss against Mellen on the 7th. Wakefield will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Chassell at 6:30 p.m. on February 20th.
