Softball Game Preview: Paschal Panthers vs. Polytechnic Parrots

The Paschal Panthers will head out to square off against the Polytechnic Parrots at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Paschal has ten straight wins, Polytechnic has 15 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Polytechnic's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Tuesday: Paschal hadn't allowed a single run the last six times they've hit the field. The Panthers put the hurt on Wyatt with a sharp 18-0 victory on Wednesday. Considering the Panthers have won ten matches by more than nine runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Meanwhile, Polytechnic fell victim to North Side and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Steers, falling 16-0.

Paschal's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-8. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.3 runs over those games. As for Polytechnic, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-12.

Paschal took their win against Polytechnic in their previous meeting back in March by a conclusive 19-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
