Baseball Game Preview: St. Joseph Central Irish vs. Wirt County Tigers

The St. Joseph Central Irish will square off against the Wirt County Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Joseph Central is coming into the match hot, having won their last six games.

St. Joseph Central's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Poca as they made off with a 16-0 victory. The Irish might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won nine games by six runs or more this season.

Cam Kellar and Hudson Moosavi did most of the damage at the plate: Kellar went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI, while Moosavi went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Those three hits gave Moosavi a new career-high. Mason Watts was another key player, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Wirt County didn't have quite enough to beat St. Marys on Wednesday and fell 5-3. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Wirt County saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Wyatt Boice, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

St. Joseph Central's win bumped their record up to 12-4. As for Wirt County, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-5.
