Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Lorena). They put the hurt on the La Vega Pirates with a sharp 22-7 win on Tuesday. The result was nothing new for the Leopards, who have now won five games by eight runs or more so far this season.
Kacie Brown looked comfortable as she tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Lorena got a massive performance out of Isabella Davis, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. That's the most runs Davis has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Emily Ackermann, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Lorena always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .658. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
The victory made it two in a row for Lorena and bumps their season record up to 11-4. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 15.0 runs over those games. As for La Vega, they dropped their record down to 1-7 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Lorena will have a chance to go back-to-back against La Vega: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
