Volleyball Recap: August Isaak's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Oceanside over Central

Oceanside lost against Central back in August, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pirates fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 2-1.

Oceanside lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was August Isaak, who had 12 digs and four aces. Another player making a difference was Ella Mendez, who had 31 digs and two assists.

Oceanside's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Central, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-10 record this season.

Oceanside wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Mission Bay on the 12th. As for Central, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 victory against Mar Vista on the 12th.
