Softball Recap: Rock Ridge Takes a Loss

Rock Ridge lost against Broad Run back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Phoenix came up short against the Spartans, falling 17-1. The Phoenix have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Rock Ridge saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mars Foley, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that Foley snagged this season.

Rock Ridge's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Broad Run, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season.

Rock Ridge will venture away from home to square off against Park View at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Broad Run, they will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Loudoun County at 6:30 p.m. on the 22nd. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Spartans 4, the Captains 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
