Football Recap: Centennial Falls Short Against Ranked Arbor View

On Wednesday, Centennial faced Arbor View in a battle between two of the state's top teams. The Centennial Bulldogs received a blow as they fell 33-19 to the Arbor View Aggies. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Aggies apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Even if they lost, Centennial's defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. In that department, Kairi Tabunar was the leader with two. She is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as she's now made five or more in the last 48 games she's played dating back to last season.

Arbor View found their leader in freshman Priscilla Garcia, who rushed for 40 yards and one touchdown, and also threw for 66 yards and one touchdown. That's the most rushing yards Garcia has posted since back in December of 2024.

Centennial dropped their record down to 7-16 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road. As for Arbor View, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 16-8.

Centennial didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 18-14 victory against Durango on the 7th. As for Arbor View, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 24-19 win against Southeast Career Tech on the 6th.
