Baseball Game Preview: Springstead Eagles vs. Nature Coast Tech Sharks

The Springstead Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Nature Coast Tech Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.

Lecanto hit Springstead with a six-run second inning on Thursday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Eagles lost 9-1 to the Panthers. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Eagles have suffered since April 4, 2025.

Springstead saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alex Schmidt, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. That hit marked the first that Schmidt has got this season.

Meanwhile, Nature Coast Tech strolled into their game on Tuesday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Springstead.

COLLIN TICE looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one earned run any time he's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on GARRICK WAGGONER, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and five RBI.

Springstead's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Nature Coast Tech, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.
