Basketball Game Preview: Liberty Minutemen vs. Heritage Pioneers

Liberty is 0-10 against Heritage since January of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Liberty Minutemen will head out on the road to square off against the Heritage Pioneers at 7:00 p.m.

Liberty is headed into Thursday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Saturday. They fell 62-54 to Jefferson Forest.

Meanwhile, Heritage got the win against Amherst County on Monday by a conclusive 60-39. Given the Pioneers' advantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 107th, while the Lancers are ranked 349th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Heritage has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.1 points over those games. As for Liberty, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-15.

Liberty might still be hurting after the 60-40 loss they got from Heritage in their previous meeting back in January. Can Liberty avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
